African American

Few things irritate me as much as when I'm referred to as African American. I have never at any time been to Africa. I have no relatives in Africa. I have no friends in Africa. A point of fact, I don't personally know anyone that has even thought about going to Africa, yet I am labeled African American.
The dictionary does not provide a true definition for the entry "African American", but if I look at "African" I find a definition that reads: "a native or inhabitant of Africa". That definition does not encompass me or anyone that I know. My roots were re-rooted thus I have not even the slightest connection with Africa.
So in your conversations, refer to me as Black, refer to me as American but please don't refer to me as African American.

What's wrong with Halle Berry?

Despite being named Esquire Magazine's "Sexiest woman alive" as well as being the highest paid actress in Hollywood, Halle Berry is not very lucky at love.

You may not have heard yet but Halle Berry and model Gabriel Aubrey (Halle's beau and father of their 2 year old daughter) have split after a 4 year involvement.

This in of itself is not a spectacular event but raises the question as to why a woman with all of the aforementioned attributes to her credit in addition to being simply gorgeous, cannot maintain a lengthy personal relationship.

Both her marriages to David Justice (a player with the Atlanta Braves), and to Eric Benet (musician) ended in less than 4 years and she seemed devastated by each, but my mind asks the question "What's wrong with Halle Berry?
